Lesson 2: Going Beyond the Brief

Every brief should be incomplete, and the reason is that your clients will give you their colour palette and items they believe they need, but that’s all surface-level and just “facts” - not the details.

Fairly so too; most clients aren’t creatives. They don’t always know how to articulate what they want, or they tend to describe the outcomes they want using visuals they’ve already seen.

In Lesson 2, you’ll learn how to go beyond the words your clients give you and how to think for them.

Lesson 2: Module 1

You’ll learn how to identify incomplete elements within a client brief and how to identify what is and what isn’t surface-level details within a brief.

Lesson 2: Module 2

Eden explores what happens when you follow the brief at face value. Diving into real-world examples and why you, as a creative or stylist, need to be an interpreter, not a service provider copying your clients’ visual references of others’ work.

Lesson 2: Module 3

So how is this applied across multiple industries, clients, and work? This module looks at cross-application and what does or doesn’t change when it comes to reading and going beyond a brief.
