TABLESCAPES THAT BECOME ART
Bold, unexpected concepts that ditch the basic Pinterest vibes and lean into personality and story.
When we style a venue, we’re not just plonking down flowers… (that would be waaay too easy) we’re pulling inspo straight from the bones of the building. Architecture is everything.
It’s about layering texture and honouring why our couples fell in love with the space in the first place.
explore the space
Take Lauren + Joey (picture below) at the gorgeous POSTAL HALL in Perth CBD. That venue is a moment. To play on the luxe vibes, we blended terrazzo like it was our love language, using them as a base for our candle clusters. The broken dark marble tiles tied the whole look back to the space, and grounded the tables. And those iconic, sky-high ceilings? We weren’t about to let them go to waste! We went XXL with vases of single stem orchids and roses (plus taper candles) that made the gaze lift.
✨ Pro tip: Decide where you want your guests’ eyes to land. Do you want them staring up in awe? Flowing through the room? Good styling isn’t just pretty, it’s choreography.
Colour with Intent
Not just “what’s trending” but what feels like the couple, the venue, the season. It could be anthing from Bold monochrome, Muted dreamy pastels or a citrus pop for summer. Choosing a palette that interacts with the space makes the whole thing feel curated, not copy-paste. We always love to pull a key colour from the venue itself (stone, brick, timber, tiles) and echo it through napkins, florals, or glassware. Instant cohesion.
✨ Pro tip: Don’t stress about your photos “dating” or the colours being too bold. When you look back at your photos you’ll think “That was SO us” instead of “I wish it wasn’t so white”
Layer the Unexpected
Tablescapes aren’t just florals + candles (yawn). Bring in sculptural objects, custom linens, edible details, or even art pieces. It’s about making the table feel alive and dimensional; something guests want to touch, photograph, and remember (and you too.) Use lighting to finish off the designs by highlighting a colour, a mood or the vibes you want the night to go.
✨ Pro tip: Mix hard + soft elements. Think glossy ceramic fruit with ruffled silk runners, or steel candle holders paired with delicate blooms.
